Since 2009, MAST has worked to connect McKinney artists and the public. MAST is free to attend and open to anyone with an appreciation of art — even kids!

Closer to the event weekend, we will provide a 2021 Tour map which will identify the street locations of the artists awaiting your visit. Most are conveniently clustered around the downtown McKinney’s Historic neighborhood. But don’t let the short drive to the other studios stall you from visiting them, too. All locations will have ample street parking.

Historic McKinney enjoys a thriving art community of several hundred professional artists, including painters, potters, sculptors, photographers, woodcarvers and turners, mixed media artists, jewelers, and even a puppet maker.

Not all artists will open their workspaces to the public but have chosen creative alternatives. Some are displaying their art in an easy-to-access garage or porch or banded together in a shared location, while others opted for open-air locations. Our priority is YOUR safety, as well as the artists and makers participating in the Studio Tour. We ask you to wear masks, use hand sanitizer OFTEN, and respect the protocols requested by the artists you visit. If you are not feeling well, please stay home.

Artist KDS Hadley’s “Nature Spirit” collection represents her existential conversation. With nature and animals. In Anne Royer’s “Cat-Harris” series, her beloved felines appear in elegant collages made with Japanese papers. The incorporation of natural objects and Japanese Philosophy in Wayne Batchelder’s functional pottery invites contemplation.
