Nature’s Musings

Shinrin yoku is a Japanese term known as forest bathing. It involves taking time to contemplate, and the practice of walking slowly through the woods. Walking in the woods is a special activity for me. It is a way to tune into my spirit and allow trees to hug me! There is fresh oxygen for the body and inhaling the natural oils that trees release. When you can smell, touch, and see something outside of your situation you open channels that may have been closed to you. You can look at things from a different vantage point.

My pottery reflects the beautiful forests that are special to all of us. I include images from nature in this website for it is not just about my pottery, but a reflection of my experiences of forests and the wisdom of trees. Forest bathing can occur by having images of the forest to look at and experience. As you visit this website the images of forests offer you this unique and refreshing perspective.

A lot of my pottery is combined with discarded tree branches because I offer to you a reminder of nature and the important role it has in our lives. I hope you enjoy the pottery and the forests throughout this story.
