Working with mud, in the form of stoneware and porcelain is one of the most creative and exciting forms of art today. And when I woke up one morning and decided that I wanted to combine my pottery with a variety of unique “sticks”, I suddenly found a new meaning for creativity. I have wood in the form of tree branches, cactus wood, and other unusual pieces all over my studio, and overflowing into my garage at home. I enjoy picking up a particular piece that attracts me in the moment, and sketching a clay object that will enhance the wood, and form a unique piece of pottery.
